I was at the grocery store the other day and a woman came up to me and said, "I work in a daycare. Please tell me that you stay home with him." (I had just my baby with me.) I smiled and said, "Yes I do. My husband and I were just talking today about how grateful we are that I can." She said, "I hope you thank your husband and God everyday that you do." How sweet was that? She has a job because people take their children there, but she sees the value of Mom (or Dad) staying home.
That is truly one of life's greatest blessings.
If you're interested in what Dr. Laura had to say about it, go here. She'll give you an earful. :)
lol I dispise Dr. Laura... lol
ReplyDeleteI think staying home is #1 thing a mother should do, but their are hard times right now, and some mothers have to go and work, i am thankful that I get to stay home with them, but if needed, I would go and work till we could get on our feet if that time came!
good post!
I do like Dr. Laura..i don't always agree with what she says. I work from home..by choice not be need. I am going prepping to go to med school to be a doctor, by choice. I think people have to find a balance between being their kids mom..and not loosing their identity, that is the case for me anyway.

My wife stays home with the kids. It was a tough decision because she was a teacher in a district that was struggling. Her students really needed her, but we decided that our kids needed her more. She will return to the classroom when our youngest in is first grade.
